Art Deco Diamond and Sapphire* Line Bracelet
This stunning Art Deco bracelet is an excellent example of the craftsmanship of the period. The alternating diamonds and sapphires* create a beautiful but simple play of color, and the French cut style of the sapphires* only enhances the color and sparkle of the gems. There is beautiful hand engraving all over this piece, from the sides of each individual link to the bottom of the safety clasp. The care and attention to detail in this piece is rarely seen today.
*In the late 1800s, French scientist Auguste Verneuil invented a method to grown synthetic sapphires, which were seen as an excellent alternative to natural sapphires due to their perfect color and clarity. During this period through the mid 20th century they were a common choice for adding bright colors to jewelry.
