Pearl Diamond Platinum Gold Brooch

Pearl Diamond Platinum Gold Brooch
This circular celebration of pearls and diamonds was created in the Edwardian period (1901 -1910). The platinum tubes that cradle the diamonds tested as platinum, but are not stamped, which was not uncommon for the time period. Tested as well, but not stamped, is the yellow gold upon which the button pearls are set, and the hinge and rod of the pin. The only metal that is stamped is the 10 karat clasp. It was probably replaced sometime during the adventures of its more than one-hundred-year lifespan. Time for you to take it on its next adventure!
