This antique garnet pendant features a 1.00 carat center garnet with 4.50 total carat weight of pear cut garnets and 2.10 total carat weight of round garnets all bursting into a beautiful flower set in gold vermeil. Gold vermeil is a high quality form of goldplating in which a thick layer of gold (this must be more than 2.5 microns and is usually between 14k – 22k gold) is coated over sterling silver, a process dating back to the mid-18th century.
